What is an inline LoRaWAN flow meter?
Inline flow meters install in a pipe run and measure the rate water passes through the bore. PS-260 targets DN15–DN50 class branches where utilities teams need trend data — makeup water, circulation loops, or process feeds — not custody transfer. The LoRaWAN node scales pulses to L/min (or m³/h) in the decoder profile so historians receive meaningful units. Install on isolatable sections with straight-run requirements per the datasheet.
Respect straight-run requirements upstream and downstream of the meter — distorted flow profiles from nearby elbows skew readings. Install on isolatable branches so maintenance can remove the element without draining the whole building. Decoder & Integration
Flow rate, cumulative volume, battery, and alarm flags are defined in the PS-260 decoder table. Re-zero cumulative totals after known maintenance windows using your LNS downlink policy. Pulse scaling to L/min and cumulative m³ is defined in the decoder table. If your SCADA expects m³/h, convert in the integration layer and document the factor for handover.
