LoRaWAN Tipping-Bucket Rain Gauge (PS-460)

Model: PS-460

A LoRaWAN tipping-bucket rain gauge logs rainfall depth for agriculture and environmental monitoring. Each tip increments a counter decoded to millimetres in your LNS — the PS-460 is built for multi-season outdoor deployment with IP-rated mechanics and long battery life. PS-460 counts tipping-bucket pulses and reports accumulated millimetres since the last uplink — suited to irrigation scheduling, storm studies, and remote plots without mains power. Pair with PS-410 soil moisture on one application to separate rainfall from irrigation in trend charts, spray decisions, and ET models. OEM farm-station bundles available on quote.

What is a LoRaWAN rain gauge?

Tipping-bucket gauges collect rain in a funnel and increment a bucket that tips at a calibrated volume. PS-460 counts tips and transmits accumulated rainfall since the last uplink. Agronomists combine PS-460 with PS-410 soil moisture to separate irrigation from natural precipitation. Mount level, clear foliage, and verify funnel mesh maintenance per the installation guide.

Level the orifice plane during installation — tilted funnels under-count rainfall. Keep foliage and bird debris out of the collection path; include funnel mesh inspection in seasonal maintenance. Pair with PS-410 soil moisture so irrigation schedules respond to both stored soil water and recent precipitation rather than one signal alone.

Decoder & Integration

Rainfall (mm), tip count, battery, and interval metadata are defined in the PS-460 decoder documentation. Reset accumulators in software after maintenance that moves the bucket. Tip counter and accumulated mm fields reset logic is documented for maintenance events. If you power-wash the bucket, note the reset in your agronomy log so historical charts stay interpretable. Factory functional-test records and TTN/ChirpStack decoder maps ship with every kit. Map uplink bytes once on your network server, then reuse the profile across sites.
