Destination-Market Documentation Guide
What to request on a LoRaWAN sensor quote for destination markets: radio plans, factory test records, OEM manuals, and certification support packs.
Ask on the quote, not after shipment
Destination-market documentation is a pack you request when you order, not a surprise in the carton. Standard quotes cover EU868 and US915 radio plans. Other bands need confirmation before firmware and decoders ship together.
OEM and ODM partners often need private-label manuals, logo artwork rules, and factory functional-test records for each lot. Write those requirements into the purchase order so the commissioning pack matches what your destination customer expects.
What typically sits in the pack
Expect decoder profiles, join parameters (DevEUI/AppKey handling instructions), installation notes, and the first uplink capture from the factory test. ISO 9001/14001 manufacturing context can sit beside the pack; it is not a substitute for a mark your destination regulator requires on the enclosure.
Pre-certified SKUs and certification assistance are different commercial lines. Say which you need. Stock trials at 100 units prove the decoder; branding from 500 units adds the name on the carton and manuals.
Integrators and distributors
Distributors should keep a revision of the decoder file next to the firmware revision. When a destination customer opens a ticket, mismatched codecs look like dead radios. Point them at the public decoder library for field names and at the integration pages for ChirpStack or TTN click-paths.
Hong Kong sales owns the quote conversation. Legal entity details for contracts live in the terms; factory marketing claims do not belong on destination customer landings.
Working with distributors
Give distributors a fixed revision of manuals and decoder files. Ad-hoc edits per country create support debt that looks like product quality issues.
Separate radio certification assistance from branding artwork. Mixing them in one vague line item delays both.
Point technical tickets at the public decoder library for field names and at ChirpStack or TTN guides for click-paths. Reserve sales email for commercial and destination-pack questions.
FAQ
- Are all marks on every carton?
- No. Ask for the destination pack on the quote. Do not assume every SKU ships every mark.
- What radio plans are standard?
- EU868 and US915. Confirm others before you lock firmware and decoders.
- Where do OEM branding rules live?
- On the OEM manufacturer page and in the purchase order artwork package.
- Who owns the destination pack?
- Hong Kong sales confirms it on the quote. Integrators should not invent marks that were never ordered.
- What if the decoder file and this site disagree?
- Trust the shipped decoder file and factory uplink capture for byte offsets. Public pages document named fields.
